Hey MyIGNers! :) To start this blog off, I will say that there is no need to threat or be worried about this blog being long. It will be a fair amount short... unless you count the time watching funny vids of course. No! Nothing's happened to fellow MyIGNer mikeerik and he is still in the process of developing long blogs so no need to fear! :)

So, I think after many years of supplying funny vids to the IGN medium, I haven't exactly spoken much about them and so this blog is too become kinda linked in to that funny vid series but also, it will explain (just) a few of mikeerik's favourite comedies over the past few years and how he has become this guy today!

This of course isn't without the numerous quantity of funny vids so here's there many TV series that I've enjoyed and always stay tuned to in the past few years. Just before you press play on any of the vids, I haven't added many TV shows in this blog because I thought it might slow down people's computers... as indicated when my computer crashed (fell sleepy) and also at the fact that there are many series ou there that would just be too long to fill this blog. You didn't think these were the only comedy programmes I like did you?

Also I take no credit for these videos as well as the pic above. ;) Enjoy!

Some mother's do ave em

I think I spelled that right. To say the exact date of when I first watched the first episode remains a little bit of a mystery. Maybe when I was about 6 possibly, or 8... or possibly last week but what is more important is that I know what the first episode I watched from this fantastic series... which was ironically the last of the series. Involving a character called Frank Spencer who struggles to make it past a day in work without having to apply for another job and played by the actor, Michael Crawford who's willing of pretty much trying any dangerous stunt for the series, only just improved the humour of a classic comedy that is very uncommon with the new releases of the social network, the consumption of larger series like Only Fools and Horses and the fact that it never continued past series 3.

However I do remember telling my parents about the episode involving a So-Low pilot which was the point at which I got the entire boxsets for Christmas 2007... until they all become available on Youtube. ;) Yes! I was watching the comedy on PSN for a while and I still am?

Here's just an example of a great scene and what I love about some scenes is that sometimes Frank's ambiguous to what he's saying and I love how he says he's going to the Zoo, Roller Skating and all that stuff to a doctor. :D All this action begins at 11:12.

Although the full episode I didn't find so great... so it's time for an extra vid. :)

This was during the ancient times when my PS2 was in my room rather than the living room (the converted garage) where I had to stand up to game but was still great watching all these episodes until midnight... where I proceeded to watch Madagascar! :)

Although the discovery of new comedies didn't stop there! Far from it and it was only until next year when I would get yet another series of boxsets which I can now watch for free on Youtube which could only be...

One Foot in the Grave

The slight opposite of Frank Spencer, well in terms of attitude, if not the complete opposite. Although the actor was once featured in Some mother's do ave em. Victor Meldrew, a guy who's had his fair share of rants (which would be a bit of an understatement) and his own response back... which isn't always pleasant.

A present in full boxset collection from 2008, where the neighbours are either freaked out by their next door's neighbour or become sarcastic and adapt to the attitude... or merely just go crazy! At the time I saw the boxsets thought, I thought and was kinda hoping that it would be set near the mountains of the Himalayas because we were also watching the Mummy 3 at the time.

However there is one episode that features scenes of a Tarantula but I didn't want to put that up just in case there were people with arachnophobia and I think putting up lots of extra videos would slow down this computer even more!

The series was successful but they had to something in order to prevent speculation of a seventh series... which would be a spoiler alert if I told you but somewhere else around the country, loomed another series which would become the basis of religious classes. Yes! It can only be the...

Vicar of Dibley

When a female vicar approaches the town, it only proves that you only need a female vicar, a sexist dude, a three legged goat, a Pre-Doctor Capalldi and a photo of Sean Bean to make up the series, oh... and the rest of Dibley. Why not celebrate the series with a Christmas episode and you know what they say about Christmas... Christmas blogs!

With much of the Dibley council compromising of the guy who was in the Harry Potter series and supposedly not a muggle and someone who plays Herod in a nativity play who plays... a friendly version.

Yet another series that we have the full collection on but... is not completely uploaded on Youtube especilly with many classics like the Winter episode which... involved Herod giving out presents. Although the series isn't amazingly long with only about 4 episodes in each season, it's still a blast to watch and most of the episodes last up to an hour!

However, it's time to skip over the pond and arrive with one of my most watched comedies... because I haven't seen all the episodes yet.

King of Queens

It was many years ago since I watched the film known as Mall Cop which become a distinct failure in my eyes as well as all the latest movies Kevin James has been portrayed in (I'm sorry if you're offended by this although the Ratchet and Clank mention was pretty neat)...

...but it didn't stop me from trying out Comedy Central's show on the block featuring the dude back again. Only this time... it would soon become one of my favourite series of all time. I can't exactly explain it but the relationship between Doug and Carrie and in fact... the whole cast and Ben Stiller's dad just seems so fun and full of life. That doesn't necessarily mean that there is no chaos and one of the series that got me interested in American sitcoms since there's not many shows I can find and a majority of the shows are during an advert, well like a ghost town.

This was one of the first episodes I ever watched and to remember, I know it has something to do with paintball with the guy from the Dark Knight and chicken wings... even though chicken wings are in most of the episodes and remember what they say about talking about someone else's looks whilst in a marriage. It's a Trap! We've seen it in all the disaster movies.

Everybody loves Raymond

A series I used to watch all the time in the morning when I was waiting for my grandparents to take my to school. This show improved my general mornings of going to school, worrying about work and all but this one gave me a happy mood... well slightly at least and with finally understanding that the actor who played the Mammoth in Ice Age, it was awesome to know that he was in a comedy series. When Ray lives far away from his parents (across the street) who are able to help or in some ways, interfere with family affairs, it's no doubt why this has become a classic to many people globally, including myself. :)

What makes this even more amazing is the fact that it's set in the very same universe as King of Queens. It's ingenius that 2 of my favourite comedies can sometimes merge together which was just as cool as when Crash Bandicoot teamed up with Spyro all those years back... and we haven't been offered a single crossover since. Skins and beat em ups don't count.

Now on to the final series to laugh up this monkey!

Rules of Engagement

Call it the version of Friends that I like. It is just one of the series I have started watching to see what kinds of other genres and themes there are out there in the television medium... other than the hundreds of documentaries I watch daily of course.

Staring 2 married couples who frequently have their misadventures of betting, airflights and David Spade who's probably just showing up without being an actor but I can say what I enjoy about the series the most is the friendship between Timmy and Dunbar, especially when this leads to a video game based on David Spade. Unfortunately, there aren't really many videos to find. Disqus is to blame obviously.

So that's it I'm afraid. It was a very short blog yes and there will be  few short blogs on the way too leading up to Christmas. Although they will be by no means shorter.

So what do you think of these series and what are your favourite comedy shows?

Thanks for reading! Hope you enjoyed. :)
